More information about the interview

We can interview you at your home/whare, or somewhere else that suits you. If public health restrictions in the COVID-19 traffic light system allow it, this could be in person. Otherwise we could interview you via Zoom (or another video call option such as WhatsApp or FaceTime).

You can be interviewed on your own, or you’re welcome to have other whānau or family members with you at your interview.

Your interview will take around 1-1.5 hours, an we’ll arrange it for a time that works for you.

You’ll be asked questions about your experience of COVID-19 and how it has affected your life and the lives of your whānau or family. All questions are optional so you don’t need to answer any that you’re not comfortable with.

With your permission we will audio record your interview (whether it’s in person or via Zoom or another video call option) an transcribe it (type it up). If you like, we can send you a copy of your interview transcript so you can check what you said.

Your interview can be in English, Te Reo Māori, NZ Sign Language, Samoan or Tongan. If you’re more comfortable with another language, we will do our best to accomodate.

To thank you for your time and expertise, you’ll receive a pūtea aroha/ token of appreciation (vouchers)
